Wei Zhang's "Heshengzhao Bo Yuege" is a monumental traditional Chinese wedding space inspired by mythological stories. The design features a celestial palace complex in the sky, complete with a Loong-shaped archway, red pillars, and a cloud corridor. The wedding is a portrayal of the marriage of Loong and Phoenix, with giant mythical creatures and inverted crystal pavilions.
The project utilized 3D carving foam sculpture technology and traditional Chinese wooden mortise and tenon construction to bring the fantasy wonderland to life. The exhibition space, located in a convention and exhibition center, spans nearly 2,000 square meters and incorporates multimedia drama and Chinese cultural elements.
The wedding space offers a mesmerizing experience, with dynamic scenes, special effects videos, and live performances that transport guests to a mythical realm.
Wei Zhang's "Heshengzhao Bo Yuege" project began in April 2023 with conceptual and scheme design, followed by six months of preparation and one and a half months of production. The construction, which commenced on October 1, 2023, was completed in just one day and two nights, involving approximately 50 large trucks and extensive coordination among supplier and staff teams.
The design received the Bronze A' Design Award in the Performing Arts, Stage, Style, and Scenery Design category in 2024, recognizing its innovative fusion of ancient traditions with modern technology and its contribution to the enhancement of quality of life.
