Kujdane: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

The Kujdane cabin, designed by Yaser and Yasin Rashid Shomali, is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional A-frame typology, influenced by its natural context. The wooden material palette and full-height glazing create a cool-toned interior, while a centralized glass core runs vertically through the heart of the building, allowing residents to experience the passage of snow and rain. The cabin's A-frame silhouette is elevated with modern architectural elements, effortlessly hovering above ground level without visible stilts or pillars.

The project started in November 2020 in Gilan, Iran, and has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022 for its outstanding expertise and innovation in architecture, building, and structure design.
