Imagination and Reality Illustration Project

Ciara Chapman's "Imagination and Reality" illustration project explores the convergence of reality and imagination following a medical intervention. The large window decal, measuring over 10,000mm in height, adorns the interior of Cork Opera House, offering a thought-provoking visual experience to the public.

The digital illustration was meticulously printed on vinyl and installed in sections to fit the building's specifications, ensuring a seamless integration with the architecture. The artwork's accessibility allows viewers to appreciate it from outside the building, accommodating individuals with physical limitations.

This awe-inspiring project, located at Cork Opera House, ran from September to November 2022, captivating audiences with its unique portrayal of life's complexities.

Chapman's inspiration for this project stemmed from personal accounts of life with a chronic medical condition, infusing the artwork with profound emotional depth and authenticity. Overcoming the challenge of scale, the illustration stands as a testament to Chapman's artistic prowess, adding to Cork city's vibrant street art scene while respecting the venue's identity.
