Rodrigo Kirck's Terrace project in Picarras, Santa Catarina, Brazil, draws inspiration from the old beach houses that once stood on the site, featuring balconies and terraces facing the sea. The project stands out with its monolithic design and the repetition of terraces that connect the ground floor to the upper collective terrace. The building is constructed using exposed reinforced concrete at its base, complemented by high-tech sliding panels in the apartment frames and leisure areas.
The Terrace project comprises 59 vacation apartment units, spanning 25 floors and reaching a height of 87 meters, with a total built area of 11,179.04 m2. The construction of Terrace began in December 2021, with an expected completion date set for November 2024.
Rodrigo Kirck, along with Katarine Schmitt and Alexandre Henrique Rodrigues, led the design team in creating Terrace, offering luxury condominium apartments with a strong emphasis on a large balcony-terrace space that seamlessly connects the living environments.
The project, which commenced in October 2020 in Itajai and was completed in August 2021, is a result of extensive research focusing on the use of balconies and their interaction with the facade, aiming to transform the relationship of a residential building into a visual landmark on the beach. Terrace was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements.
