Seawool: Redefining Fashion with Sustainability

ChungSheng Chen introduces Seawool, a groundbreaking branding project that transforms discarded oyster shells into functional fiber, creating a unique yarn with a woolen touch. The project commenced in September 2022 and concluded in May 2023, aiming to deepen consumer awareness of sustainability in fashion.

The Seawool brand logo, designed in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, incorporates elements of waves and intricate details, symbolizing respect for the natural environment and continuous progress. The primary color, Sustainable Blue, supplemented by Wool Yellow and Oyster Grey, reflects the brand's commitment to sustainability.

Seawool's innovative approach to fashion and sustainability is further emphasized by its vibrant and eco-friendly visual identity, logo, and slogan, encouraging a unique lifestyle attitude towards sustainability. The brand's logo is designed for versatile use, from clothing labels and packaging to business cards, websites, and social media platforms, ensuring visual consistency and enhancing brand recognition.

The Seawool branding project involved collaboration with entities such as Tainan University of Technology, Acdesign Associates International Co., Ltd, Creative Tech Textile Co., Ltd, and Hans Global LLC, showcasing a collective effort towards sustainable fashion innovation.

Prof. ChungSheng Chen, with a wealth of experience in product design and creative design thinking, has led the project, infusing it with sophistication and a sense of continuous innovation. The brand's unique blend of fashion and sustainability, along with its commitment to quality and individual style, has garnered recognition, including the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2024.
