Rayn: A Sustainable Solution for Urban Balconies

Ziel Home Furnishing Technology Co., Ltd proudly presents Rayn, a groundbreaking rain collecting sunshade designed to address the challenges faced by urban residents in watering their plants and gardens. Inspired by the daily life of urban dwellers and environmental protection concepts, Rayn combines the functionality of a parasol with a rainwater collector, offering a space-saving, environmentally friendly solution for urban balconies and gardens.

Rayn, with its innovative design, allows users to conveniently collect rainwater for watering plants and cleaning gardens, reducing reliance on the home water supply system. The integration of a large-capacity water tank and intelligent water purification device ensures efficient water usage and sustainability. Measuring 1800*2600*2200mm, with a 4.68 square meter umbrella area and an 88L water tank volume, Rayn is a practical and space-efficient addition to urban living spaces.

Constructed using metal, wood, and tarpaulin materials, Rayn is not only durable but also aesthetically pleasing, seamlessly blending with modern outdoor furniture. The intelligent water purification device and overflow protection mechanism further enhance the functionality and reliability of Rayn, making it an essential addition to urban balconies and gardens.

Rayn's user experience and human-computer interaction focus on simplicity and practicality, ensuring ease of operation and monitoring of the smart water purifier. The project, led by designers Puschmann Leon and Yu Ren, commenced in Cologne, Germany, in April 2023 and was completed in October 2023. The design is the recipient of the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Garden and Outdoor Furniture Design category in 2024, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to improving urban life.
