Hui-Chu Huang's Innovative Design Transforms Commercial Space into Unique Dining Experience

Renowned designer Hui-Chu Huang has unveiled the Ten Ten Hunan Bistro, a stunning restaurant project located on the 3rd floor of the Lu One commercial building in Xujiahui, Shanghai. The space, completed in August 2018, seats 120 guests and offers a breathtaking view. Inspired by the starry sky, bar, and farmhouse concepts, the design incorporates red slanted lights to symbolize the spicy taste of Hunan cuisine, creating a unique and innovative dining experience.

To address the irregular layout of the original space, Hui-Chu Huang utilized innovative design techniques, including the use of iron parts, AR21 paint, teak, stone, and iron frames. The combination of contemporary avant-garde and rural rustic elements creates a high-end dining space with a retro yet modern style. The innovative use of AR21 paint allows iron parts to have a wood-like texture, adding to the unique ambiance of the space.

The Ten Ten Hunan Bistro features a ceiling adorned with iron elements and layered wood panels, creating a calm and low-key atmosphere reminiscent of a starry sky. The space also incorporates arrow designs in the bar section to provide a sense of orientation for customers. The large steel frame structure is harmonized with laminates and green plants to create a dining space for 120 people, offering a seamless traffic flow and efficient use of space.
