Breaking the Mold with "Think out of the Box"

Yu-Lin Shih's "Think out of the Box" challenges conventional residential design, reimagining the entrance as the living room, allowing guests to immediately immerse themselves in the welcoming atmosphere. The space, spanning 48 square meters, features innovative lighting combinations and a seamless integration of the kitchen and dining area, fostering genuine interactions and a homely ambiance.

The design's unique use of frames and space planning eliminates the need for excessive budget and decoration, enhancing the living experience and guest reception. The show flat's open kitchen and bench dining chair create a natural and inviting environment, reflecting complete acceptance of guests.

Notably, the project was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its practical, innovative, and industry-leading design elements.

Yu-Lin Shih, based in Taichung City, Taiwan, is the director of Dumas Design, a highly professional interior design team specializing in residential, commercial, and corporate office projects.
