Woyun Platform: A Fusion of Nature and Architecture

Archermit's Woyun Platform stands as the entrance exhibition center for the Giant Panda National Park, drawing inspiration from the geological features of the local bamboo forests, mists, and glacier debris. The design integrates these elements into a three-dimensional landscape picture park city, offering a unique blend of cultural buildings, parks, galleries, exhibition spaces, and convention centers.

The platform comprises a "bamboo forest" on the ground floor, serving as a rural living room, a suspended "mists" cultural display space, and "debris" on the top, providing a leisure space. The design team, led by Principal Architect Youcai Pan and Design Director Zhe Yang, aimed to create a small world of shared community culture, merging rural life and contemporary art.

Utilizing innovative technology, the design team studied and implemented efficient lighting techniques to create a vast sky image on the outside of aluminum plate, enhancing the overall visual experience for visitors.

One of the notable challenges overcome during the project was the innovative practice of dividing the circular curve into 120 straight lines, reducing the wall thickness and construction cost of the aluminum single plate without affecting the building's effect. Additionally, the lighting device was strategically installed inside the cavity at the back of the aluminum veneer to restore the atmosphere of the star universe through the change of light color and the different combination of holes on the aluminum veneer.

Archermit's Woyun Platform has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building, and Structure Design, reflecting its outstanding and trendsetting nature that significantly impacts the world with its desirable characteristics.
