Zafiri Cava Deli Architectural Design

Zafiri Cava Deli, designed by Konstantinos Gkagkos, is a retail shop that draws inspiration from the architectural style of old mansions in the heart of the island. The storefront is adorned with imposing arches, while the interior boasts a harmonious blend of metal and wood, complemented by aged color tones. The metal staircases and three balconies offer a functional yet aesthetically pleasing design, reminiscent of an old library. The installation of emblematic chandeliers intensifies the island element, creating a unique and captivating ambiance.

The project's unique properties lie in its deliberate resemblance to an old mansion, with imposing archways that grace the window, giving the shop a prestigious and distinctive appearance. The store's cellar, known as the fortress, is a significant feature designed to resemble a classic traditional cellar, adding depth and character to the space.

The realization of the design involved harmonizing the island element with the concept of an old mansion, utilizing a combination of metal and wood, aged earth tones, and carefully selected leather furniture. The exterior features imposing arches that add an island touch, elevating the shop's prestige.

The total dimension of the project spans 217sqm, providing a spacious and immersive retail environment for visitors to explore and enjoy.

Despite the creative, technical, and research challenges, the design successfully combines the island element with the classic mansion cellar, aiming to create a landmark project that leaves a lasting impression and fulfills customer expectations.

Konstantinos Gkagkos, the designer behind Zafiri Cava Deli, has established a reputation for creating captivating and functional spaces that resonate with traditional and island-inspired elements. The project has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2023, showcasing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
