Award-winning designer Hans-Petter Bjørnådal unveils Senja, a stunning cabin inspired by Sami building traditions, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Senja, Norway.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hans-Petter Bjørnådal's Senja cabin draws inspiration from the ancient Sami tradition of "Heller," where shelters were built under large rocks. The design mimics natural lines of mountains, featuring a large panorama window, seamlessly blending the structure with the terrain.
The cabin, located near the fishing village of Hamn, offers panoramic views of Senja's breathtaking mountains and nature, creating a harmonious connection with the landscape.
The realization of the cabin involved advanced technology, including a wooden facade painted in dark grey to blend with the surroundings, wood/aluminium windows with steel details for protection from harsh winter storms, and a warm interior adorned with pine boards and oak floors.
With a length and width of 21.5m x 7m, the cabin spans 133m2 and features a carefully crafted interior, ensuring a cozy atmosphere for relaxation.
Senja boasts impressive energy efficiency, with wall, roof, and floor insulation contributing to a sustainable and comfortable living space.
Designed to open up to nature, the cabin offers a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing occupants to immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape.
Senja was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.
