Utopia of the Sea: Redefining Luxury Living on the Oceanfront

Utopia of the Sea, a high-rise residential project by Tzu Chen Tuan, is a testament to luxurious living on the oceanfront's first row. Inspired by the breathtaking 270-degree panoramic seascape, this design offers an unobstructed view that nurtures a romantic living experience. The removal of room partition walls and the integration of a raised platform with a semi-outdoor Jacuzzi on the balcony redefine the concept of luxury living.

With an indoor area of about 100 square meters, the design strategy involved capturing the priceless view by removing a room partition wall. The entrance features a raised platform with a wash and sand function, leading to a semi-outdoor Jacuzzi on the balcony—forming the core of the design. The use of lightweight bricks for the raised platform and a micro-cement coating ensures structural lightness while displaying a rustic aesthetic.

The project, which started in Jan. 2023 and finished in May 2023 in China, focused on exploiting the site's innate advantages to provide an unhindered and open seascape view, enhancing circulation, and clearly distinguishing between communal and private spaces. The challenge was to maximize the potential of the site's inherent conditions to secure an unobstructed and expansive sea view while maintaining a balance between cost control and the optimal presentation of space quality and style.

Tzu Chen Tuan, hailing from Taipei City, Taiwan (China), has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2024 for this innovative creation, recognized for its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics that contribute to a better world.
