Leisurely Hauz: Redefining Vacation Homes

Located in a private mountain farm, Leisurely Hauz is a container home that prioritizes environmentally friendly practices, maintaining its original blue and metal color along with exterior cement. The design frames a part of the landscape to create an outdoor hideaway, emphasizing the structural elements that delineate the boundaries between the building and the natural landscape.

Spanning 16121 square feet, the property features an amazing sitting room, entertainment rooms, an open kitchen with integrated dining space, and a swimming pool. The industrial and minimalist aesthetic is balanced by natural elements, creating a harmonious blend of modernity and nature.

The project started in February 2022 in Penang and was completed in May 2022. The design was inspired by New Brutalism and Biophilic Design, combining modernity with back-to-nature vibes to create an elegant yet practical holiday home.

One of the main challenges faced during the project was integrating the buildings with the preexisting natural landscape without altering it significantly. The architects successfully achieved this by embracing New Brutalism and Biophilic Design, resulting in a harmonious fusion of the buildings and natural elements.

Leisurely Hauz promises an environment of peace and calm, with an interior design that combines mid-century design with futuristic elements, offering an escape from busy city life. The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise and innovation.
