Spirit of Earth: Outdoor Lighting Design

Jingyi Miao unveils "Spirit of Earth," an innovative outdoor lighting design inspired by the visual spectacle created when a laser sweeps across grasslands. The design aims to bring sustainable illumination to rural areas, driving tourism and economic development.

The design utilizes a linear laser to sweep across the grass, creating a mesmerizing display of scattered green light spots, resembling dancing spirits of the earth. The product is designed to be safe for both users and the environment, meeting the safety standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission.

The project, which was completed in Guangzhou, China, was exhibited at the Art Museum of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in June 2023. The design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award for Lighting Products and Fixtures.

Jingyi Miao, the designer of "Spirit of Earth," is a graduate of the Innovation Design Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and has received numerous international awards for design excellence, including the iF Design Award, International Design Excellence Awards, and the Asia Design Prize.
