Future Deja Vu: A Fusion of Human and Feline Living Spaces

KAO SHIH CHIEH introduces "Future Deja Vu," a groundbreaking residential design that seamlessly integrates the needs of a young couple and their four cats. The design embodies pet-friendliness, incorporating features from a feline perspective, enriching the space with a vibrant, interesting dynamic. The project, completed in Taiwan from July to September 2022, has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2023.

The design implants two separate but intersecting cosmic views in a single-story residence, creating exclusive passageways for the cats to traverse between public and private areas. The open layout of the public area is carefully balanced with the cats' activities and habits, creating independent traffic flows and private areas for the feline residents. The space utilizes pure color tones and flowing arcs to create a lively visual impression, with three-dimensional tunnels and a cat house supporting the cats' needs for traversing, walking, perching, and playing.

Breaking away from conventional pet designs, "Future Deja Vu" allows the daily lives of cats to become the heart and soul of the space. By implementing an independent traffic flow for cats and a resting area, and setting up an open, shared living space, this design achieves pet-friendliness and empowerment, giving the cats full freedom of use while respecting their habits and privacy.
