Double Face: A Lamp and Flashlight in One

Bruce Tao introduces Double Face, a groundbreaking lamp designed to provide a practical solution for power outages. Inspired by the common occurrence of blackouts in many African countries, Double Face serves as a versatile lighting solution. With its two-sided design, it functions as a regular lamp during normal electricity supply, while also featuring a built-in rechargeable flashlight for emergency situations.

The lamp's unique design allows it to be charged during regular use, ensuring that the flashlight is ready for use during power outages. When a blackout occurs, users can simply rotate the lamp to activate the upper light, providing continued illumination for working or studying in the dark. Additionally, the upper light can be detached and used as a standalone flashlight, offering flexibility and convenience during emergencies.

Constructed with an aluminum alloy shell and a plastic base, Double Face is designed for durability and practicality. Its compact dimensions of 18cm x 18cm x 48cm make it suitable for various settings, providing reliable lighting when needed most.

Double Face was developed by a dedicated design team led by Wu Guorong and exhibited in Shantou in June 2019, following its completion in May of the same year. The project was initiated in April 2019 in Anhui, showcasing the commitment to addressing real-world challenges through innovative design solutions.

Bruce Tao's vision for Double Face stems from the need to address the widespread issue of power outages, particularly in regions where access to consistent electricity is limited. By integrating a rechargeable flashlight into a functional and aesthetically pleasing lamp, Double Face represents a significant advancement in lighting technology, offering practicality and innovation in one versatile product.
