FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wind Crystals Installation Art

doT & associates, in collaboration with Taiwanese artists, unveiled the "Wind Crystals" installation art project in Taiwan in July 2020. The project was part of a landscape art season initiated by the local government to stimulate tourism. The installation, spanning 24 square meters, uses salt crystals and mahogany wood to depict the historical salt industry scene in BuDai County, Taiwan.

The unique truss structure, created from crystallized salt and mahogany wood, is designed to rotate with the sea breeze, capturing the interplay of light and shadow while echoing the murmurs of BuDai County. The installation aims to provide a glimpse into the region's rich cultural and historical significance, offering visitors an immersive experience.

The unconventional polygonal shape of the salt crystals, constructed from irregularly arranged wood, reflects the natural composition of salt piles, emphasizing the intrinsic connection between the salt industry and the surrounding natural elements.

At the invitation of the government, doT & associates took on the challenge of representing the salt industry's legacy through a visually striking and interactive installation. The project not only serves as a cultural landmark but also contributes to the local tourism industry, offering visitors a unique and educational experience.
