Introducing "House a Half" - A Mini House Designed for Offline Living

TAIWAN (CHINA) -- /DESIGN/newswire -- Jul 21, 2021

doT & associates presents "House a Half," a unique mini house designed for offline living, built in Taiwan in March 2020.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

House a Half: Embracing Offline Living in a Mini House

Designed by doT & associates, "House a Half" is a mini house surrounded by a layer of camphor wood chips, offering a unique offline living experience. The L-shaped kitchen, movable multifunctional stoves, and wooden tub contribute to its distinctiveness, reducing desires and adding imagination.

The 45 square meter floor plan includes a living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and a loft space for a bedroom, promoting a simpler lifestyle away from the city's hustle and bustle.

The house can be assembled into a wooden cabin using computerized design drawings and models, with materials processed from the friendly environment of Kochi forests in Japan.

Offline living is further enhanced by the addition of a smokeless flying saucer type fireplace, providing warmth and a real flame without environmental damage. The design promotes a dialogue between the individual's senses and the environment, capturing the essence of outdoor light and wind.

The challenges of limited space were overcome with innovative solutions, such as portable ladders and multifunctional furniture, creating a light and transparent texture within the house.

With its unique design and focus on offline living, "House a Half" received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.
