Takuji Kamio's Ching Ming Kyoto project has redefined the ambiance of dining spaces by ingeniously incorporating lighting systems as art forms. Overcoming challenges posed by ceiling regulations in the train station building, Kamio strategically utilized geometric lighting to create a dramatic and immersive atmosphere throughout the 110 square meter restaurant.
By spreading the lighting in impressive line shapes, Kamio successfully encapsulated the seating areas with continuous triangle-shaped lights, forming a visually stunning and cohesive environment. The team's meticulous attention to detail extended to the integration of graphic expressions such as wall paintings and floor tiles, harmonizing the overall design concept.
Recognized for its exceptional creativity and resourcefulness, Ching Ming Kyoto was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2022. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the project's outstanding contribution to enhancing the quality of life through the seamless integration of art, science, design, and technology.
