Takuji Kamio's Villa De Nozomi challenges traditional senior housing norms by infusing art-inspired elements into the design. The main lounge features a dynamic ceiling with varying heights and colored circle shapes, creating a visually stimulating environment. By leveraging lighting reflections, Kamio successfully enhances the space's depth and expansiveness, offering residents a truly extraordinary living experience.
Utilizing cost-effective materials such as wooden panels and PVC sheets, Kamio expressed graphics on the walls and floors, introducing dimensional rhythms and unique visual impressions. The design team meticulously considered color coordination to comply with local regulations, ensuring a seamless integration of the building into its surrounding environment.
With a land area of 1244sqm and a gross floor area of 3600sqm spread across six stories, Villa De Nozomi provides a vibrant and engaging community for seniors. The project, which commenced in December 2018, is located in Tokyo, Japan, and has garnered accolades, including the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022 for its innovative approach to interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
