Eastern Garden Sculpture "Water Cloud" by Hsu Fu Chu

Hsu Fu Chu's "Water Cloud" sculpture, part of the Eastern Garden project, has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award for Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2020. The stainless-steel sculpture creates different reflections and interactions, bringing out the profoundness of sentimental fun and spatial experience.

The design project utilizes the skills of an eastern garden, encompassing layers, enframed scenery, detour, lights, and shadows to highlight the traffic flow with a transitional two-section community entrance. This exposes a conceptual image resembling a winding path leading to a secluded spot, securing the privacy of the residences in the community and generating an intriguing detour traffic flow.

Intensified by splendid floor-to-ceiling windows, the reflections of the sculpture seemingly float over the water, creating an extensive pool landscape and a broad sense of indoor space. The design also spawns an artistic atmosphere as dazzling as an art museum.

The design interacts with lights and shadows, imagination, reality, and feature walls to develop a delicate conceptual visual with multiple layers. The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the hall and the water reflection of the white marble sculpture "light cube" installed outside the building create an imaginary-and-real dialogue between the indoor and outdoor space.

The diverse plants create an invigorating ecological habitat that is environmentally friendly to living beings. The design concept of an ecological island connects nearby ecological parks, enhancing biodiversity and increasing opportunities for biological migration.

The native trees suitably grown in southern Taiwan are planted here. The public artwork adds a sense of artistic ambience, while the elegant arbors and diverse plants overspread the surrounding environment with great views, breeze, and sunlight. The calm allurement of the pool furnished in the forecourt adjusts the microclimate to a greater degree, decreasing the effect of urban heat island.
