Antonia Skaraki, the renowned designer from Kifisia, Greece, has unveiled The Wine Barrel Classic, a groundbreaking packaging design that challenges the traditional perception of wine. The innovative concept aims to democratize wine tasting, transforming it from an elitist ritual to a laid-back social experience.

The Wine Barrel Classic breaks the stereotype that quality wine can only exist in a glass container. It introduces a new wine category, "The wine out of the box," allowing wine enthusiasts to enjoy the natural habitat of wine from a smaller barrel. The packaging, made from recyclable cardboard, features a tap for easy serving, making it perfect for casual gatherings with friends and family.

Measuring 17cm in width, 14cm in height, and 20.6cm in depth, The Wine Barrel Classic offers a unique and practical design. The project, which commenced in October 2020 in Athens, is still ongoing, reflecting the meticulous research and creativity invested in its development.

Antonia Skaraki's innovative approach to wine packaging has earned her the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. This accolade recognizes the practicality and innovation of The Wine Barrel Classic, setting new industry standards and contributing to a better world.
