Yi-Lun Hsu's Mezzanine Apartment

Yi-Lun Hsu's Mezzanine Apartment, a stunning renovation project in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award. The apartment, completed in 2019, redefines space with its innovative interior design, prioritizing functionality and privacy.

The 83-square-meter space features a 4.3-meter high mezzanine, with the upper floor serving as a private area and the lower floor as a public space. The unique design includes a scissor-shaped staircase at the center, connecting the upper and lower floors, and a storage room for large items under the stairs.

The main TV wall of the living room is embossed with a 15-degree V-shaped sloping wood, adding an element of fun to the high space. The apartment also incorporates a natural green life with freely-hung plants on the railing of the second floor, made of punched-plate.

Ms. Hsu, the founder of Minature Interior Design Ltd., has been recognized with several awards, including the gold award of 2015-2016 CIDF, the bronze award in 2017-2018 of A' Design Award, the silver award of 2018 Berlin Design Award, and the special mention in 2019 of German Design Award.
