Wu Club: Redefining Spatial Experiences

AD ARCHITECTURE presents Wu Club, a groundbreaking Chaoshan cuisine restaurant and club that defies architectural conventions. Comprising private dining rooms, a tea room, a cigar bar, a whisky bar, and an audio/video room, Wu Club embodies a modern energy and advanced design concept, aiming to create a "tentative" spatial state.

The space features polygonal planes, slanting structures, and "floating" forms, challenging established architectural values and releasing imagination. Irregular geometric shapes and a broken, void sculpture concept create dramatic expressions and artistic tension, offering a unique spatial environment.

The design team utilized creative and experimental approaches to express paint, incorporating elements of humor, mystery, and dream into the space. Wu Club covers an area of 600 sqm and utilizes materials such as foamed aluminum, Moorgen Smart System, metal net, rock slab, paint, timber floor, and SIKI lighting.

Chief designer Xie Peihe and the design team from AD ARCHITECTURE accentuated light to convey the spiritual world through the materiality of light, creating a mysterious, tranquil ambiance with illusionary effects. The project was completed in July 2020, with design time starting in January 2020.

Wu Club is a winner of the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, recognized for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness, contributing to quality of life improvements.
