Residential Design Project: Carefree and Leisurely Lifestyle

Award-winning designer Yu Ju Lin presents a residential project in Taichung, Taiwan, completed in September 2021. The project involved the redesign and planning of the first two floors of a standalone house with a history of over 2 decades. The design aimed to create open spaces, a large kitchen, a spacious master bedroom, ample dressing room facilities, and an open master bathroom with a bathtub.

The manifestation of space, through the interpretation of life and emotion, begins to take concrete shape, and through the design of nature, including space and humanities, the real context of home is revealed on the outside. The light color tone of the space is a metaphor for the dynamic aesthetics of the building and the urban taste to be compatible with the urban environment.

The project, covering 165 square meters, utilized woodwork, stucco, melamine board, calcium silicate board, and slate to realize the designer's vision. The design integrates stone, steel, and glass, creating an open visual effect and an elegant, warm atmosphere. The space offers various functions while ensuring the continuity of form, providing new aesthetic possibilities due to variations of visual experience.

The project overcame challenges such as serious water leakage, with the team readjusting the layout and resolving the issue through professional equipment and strengthened waterproofing. The design reflects the appropriate life experience and attitude to interpret space and humanities, transforming the property into a sensible and aesthetic space.

Yu Ju Lin's Carefree and Leisurely Lifestyle project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature that meets professional and industrial requirements. The project redefines urban living, offering a sense of relaxation and leisure in an urban environment.
