Motiejus Gaigalas, along with the design team, drew inspiration from the Baltic Sea and its neighboring countries to create the Baltija Chocolate Collection packaging. The deep greenish-blue color was chosen to evoke the vibrance and luxury of the sea, while classic Victorian style illustrations were used to symbolize the timeless nature of the design. The packaging features unique sea scenery and a lighthouse, connecting the diverse countries surrounding the Baltic Sea.
The packaging was printed using offset technology, enriched with matte varnish and copper foil elements, adding a premium touch to the design. The collection includes three separate packages, each with its own unique features, such as reduced plastic usage and uncommon cover designs, adding elegance and functionality to the overall packaging.
The design process, which began in January 2020 and concluded in May 2020, involved extensive research to understand the consumer base and their preferences. The goal was to create a packaging design that would not only represent the Baltic Sea region but also serve as a memorable souvenir for consumers.
