Prism Design Unveils Suigetsu Japanese Restaurant

Prism Design introduces Suigetsu Japanese Restaurant, a captivating fusion of Chongqing and Japanese culture, located in Chongqing, China. The restaurant's design draws inspiration from the confluence of Yang Zi and Jia Ling River, seamlessly blending natural landscape features with interior design.

The 370 square meter restaurant showcases the integration of Chongqing and Japanese culture, incorporating traditional elements from both regions. The floor's varying heights reflect the diverse changes of Chongqing's landscape, while the plan arrangements are influenced by Chinese Fengshui culture.

The restaurant's design is a modern metaphor of traditional Chinese and Japanese elements. The ceiling, inspired by a folded fan, utilizes aluminum alloy and wood textures, while the facade features blowing boxes reminiscent of the traditional lamp festival in Chongqing, using acrylic for a contemporary touch.

Opened in September 2016, the restaurant's design project commenced in January 2016 and was completed in August 2016. The design team, led by Tomohiro Katsuki and Masanori Kobayashi, conducted extensive research on natural landscapes, Japanese and Chinese cultures, traditional carpentry technology, and Feng Shui.

Prism Design's Suigetsu Japanese Restaurant received the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2017, recognizing its outstanding and trendsetting design that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
