CIAK All Day Italian

Monique Lee, Interior Design Director of Mas Studio Ltd., has unveiled the CIAK All Day Italian restaurant, a nostalgic and picturesque Italian town-inspired dining establishment located at Shop# 265, 2/F Cityplaza, 18 Taikoo Shing Road, Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong. The design, completed in June 2016, aims to present a mood and an attitude to life to their guests, restoring an Italian countryside culture and telling the Dolce Vita - sweet life philosophy.

The trattoria features a wooden decoration imitating natural tree branches, connected to a radiating aluminum ceiling in wood surface finishing. The walls are parqueted with red bricks of different thickness, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an exotic Italian town. The 369 sq.m² site area is designed to evoke the feeling of an Italian plaza, with a comfortable setting featuring brick, natural wood, and tiles, reminiscent of the picturesque streets of Italian towns.

Near the entrance, a display of grocery products follows the old philosophy of Italian grocery, where high-quality products are open for customers’ selection. Additionally, an overhead projector at the back of the restaurant plays videos of old movies on a screen from time to time, allowing visitors to capture a feeling of watching movies in an old theatre and recollect memories of the dazzling Hollywood of the 30s and 40s.

Monique Lee's design for CIAK All Day Italian was awarded Bronze in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2017, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness. The design incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology, exhibiting strong technical and creative skills and contributing to quality of life improvements.
