K11 Musea Carpark: A Kaleidoscope of Artistic and Unconventional Experiences

K11 Musea Carpark, located within the three-million-square-foot Victoria Dockside in Hong Kong, has been transformed into a vibrant and dynamic transportation hub, challenging the conventional notion of a car park. The project, led by Dr. Adrian Cheng Chi-Kong JP of New World Development Company Limited & K11, in collaboration with Stefano Tordiglione of ST design, aimed to infuse art and design into this functional space, creating a unique and visually captivating experience for visitors.

The car park's design concept is centered around creating a visual memory of the space, with each floor identified by a unique color to enhance the visitor's experience. The transition between the car park and the entrance of the shopping mall features Broadway-style light bulbs and metal-framed doors, adding an artistic touch to the space.

One of the standout features of the car park is the incorporation of contemporary graffiti by leading artist Caratoes, adding a striking and unconventional element to the space. The B2 level of the car park, connected to the shopping mall entrance, features grids of light bulbs, metallic ceilings, red brick walls, and checkered floors, reminiscent of a classic Broadway theatre front.

The project, which commenced in 2016, was completed in August 2019, marking a significant transformation of the traditional car park into a vibrant and culturally rich space within the Victoria Dockside district.

The innovative design of K11 Musea Carpark has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020, highlighting its outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and remarkable innovation in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
