K11 Musea's Muse Edition Transforms Historical Godown Terminal into Fashion Shopping Arcade
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
K11 Musea's Muse Edition, located in the historical godown terminal Holt's Wharf in Tsim Sha Tsui, has redefined the retail experience by transforming the site into a fashion shopping arcade. Inspired by the sailing and dockyard, the design features ceiling crystal lightings redesigned to resemble fresnel lenses from lighthouse beacons, casting soft shadows on the floor. The retail arcade retains historical structural elements, embracing the beauty of its architectural features.
The site's historical significance as a dockyard situated on top of the harbor is reflected in the design, using materials like concrete, brass, and stainless steel to draw industrial and rustic elements from the original architecture. The interior area spans about 3,000 sq.m., with an entrance flooring of 100 thousand pine wood blocks, reminiscent of ship-decks, and a waffle grid ceiling embedded with 273 LED panels programmed to simulate outdoor weather.
Adrian Cheng, the founder of K11 Group, envisioned Muse Edition as a preservation of the city's iconic symbol, targeting millennials with a young fashion shopping arcade. The project, which started in 2016 and finished in August 2019, aims to remind the audience of the preciousness of the hundred-year heritage through the delicate combination of retained historical structures and modern design.
