Meow: Multi-Functional Logistics Box

Wan Hu presents "Meow," a multi-functional logistics box that draws inspiration from cats, integrating the features of felines into the spatial design reminiscent of human houses. The design aims to create a warm and cozy shopping experience for consumers while providing cats with an additional entertainment space. Meow is a sustainable and pet-friendly solution that reimagines the use of logistics boxes.

The "Meow" design boasts several unique properties, including a smooth and simple folding process that allows users to transform the box into a cat house without the need for tools or generating waste paper. The swing cover extends the top space of the cat house, maximizing its utilization, and the open-door design makes the cat house more spacious. The sturdy structure design accommodates the jumping behavior of cats, enhancing stability and durability. Additionally, the exterior design incorporates cat attributes, enhancing the happiness of both users and cats.

Through innovative structural design, the packaging logistics box can be conveniently folded into a beautiful and strong cat house, realizing multi-functional product packaging and reusing waste cartons. Meow's dimensions are Width 320mm x Depth 280mm x Height 200mm.

Meow is a collaborative effort by Wan Hu's design team members Zhang Xiumin, Quan Xinyi, Li Shuqin, and Yang Wenhao. It serves as both a logistics box and a cat house, offering a seamless transition from packaging and transporting goods to providing a comfortable resting space for cats. The entire process is easy and enjoyable, ensuring a delightful experience for both consumers and their feline companions.

The "Meow" project commenced in April 2023 and was completed in May 2023 in Hangzhou. It has been successfully implemented for logistics transportation in the cat litter industry. The design team's research focused on the secondary use of logistics boxes after transportation, aiming to reduce waste and promote sustainability through low-cost innovative design.

Wan Hu's "Meow" overcame creative, technical, and research challenges to transform logistics boxes into functional cat houses through low-cost innovations. The design balances practicality, commercial costs, load-bearing capacity, mass production, aesthetics, and environmental friendliness to offer a better consumer experience without increasing shopping costs.

Meow is a testament to Wan Hu's commitment to pet-friendly and environmentally conscious designs. It promotes the reuse of logistics boxes, aligning with the psychological needs of pet owners and demonstrating a sustainable approach to packaging and pet welfare.
