Nargiza Usmanova's "Outsiders" is a lighting performance that took place in Oakville, Canada, featuring handmade costumes that transformed human bodies into illuminated aliens, conveying the message that energy is the foundation of human livelihood and a potential key to solving the energy problem on Earth.
The performance, a fiction on the theme of energy, showcased the use of LED modules and zip-ties to create lighting costumes, with the main idea being that energy is actually found inside of us.

The installation allows people to walk through a colorful labyrinth that sheds light on the challenges of immigration. The structure's colors constantly alter, symbolizing the changes that immigrants face in a new environment. When viewed from above, a giant eye is formed by the intersection of two semicircles which represent the East and West hemispheres on Earth. The project started in August 2022 in Toronto and finished in September 2022, and was exhibited in North York (Toronto) for one night 1-2 October 2022.
