Aida Sekkei Precut: Redefining Timber Processing Architecture

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nobuaki Miyashita's Visionary Design for Aida Sekkei's Timber Processing Plant

Renowned designer Nobuaki Miyashita's Aida Sekkei Precut project is a groundbreaking architectural marvel, redefining timber processing plants. Inspired by the dynamism and speed of fabrication observed in a pre-cut factory, the design concept features a facade with a protruding massive timber symbolizing the essence of the factory. The project, completed in September 2020, is currently in operation in Bando City, Japan, where forest resources are abundant.

The project boasts a 100-meter-long viewing aisle encased in a random stripe wooden shell, cantilevered from the factory building wall, creating a sense of acceleration and speed. The office building features a large space with trusses made from smaller cross-section members, showcasing the innovative use of traditional Japanese timber construction techniques.

The design integrates all elements to create a showcase factory, emphasizing visibility and aesthetic appeal in every aspect. Aida Sekkei Precut has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building, and Structure Design in 2024, reflecting its outstanding and trendsetting nature.

As a nod to the future of timber processing, Aida Sekkei Precut stands as a testament to innovation and excellence in architectural design.
