Orico Training Center: Redefining Corporate Office Spaces

Nobuaki Miyashita's Orico Training Center is a groundbreaking project that revolutionizes the concept of a corporate office. The design draws inspiration from the diverse worlds associated with credit cards, aiming to express the different worldviews and infinite universes that each card represents. The space features unique elements, including guest rooms and common areas with partitions replicating the precise shape of a credit card, creating a multi-layered separation to immerse trainees in Orico's identity.

The center's design also incorporates the credit card-specific international standard font for room number and floor information signage, ensuring a cohesive and immersive experience. The innovative use of technology, such as cantilevered card partition walls and glare-less lighting, adds dynamism and functionality to the space while complying with building codes for safety.

Furthermore, in response to the evolving needs brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the design allows for flexible use as both a satellite and touch-down office, prioritizing privacy, functionality, and comfort. The center's location in a tranquil residential area in Tokyo, adjacent to green spaces and university campuses, provides a serene and conducive environment for training and work.

The Orico Training Center project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable design that introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
