Reviving Tradition in Modern Development

U A D proudly presents the Pingxiang SunbiZitan Scenic Area, a captivating blend of tradition and modernity nestled in the southwest corner of the Ancient Town Reservoir (Wetland Park) in Tianzhong, Pingxiang. This innovative project showcases the integration of local cultural heritage with urban development, offering a unique cultural landscape with a rich historical significance.

SunbiZitan Scenic Area spans approximately 110,000 square meters, featuring traditional residence-style commercial buildings that enclose small clusters, creating a pure commercial and leisure walking block with separated water systems and linked lands. The project aims to protect the ancient town while enhancing its urban culture, making it a standout feature of Pingxiang's modern development.

The project, realized from June 19, 2013, to June 2019, is a testament to the dedication of the design team, including Xia Jiming, Lin Jianhai, Li Hui, Zhang Beibei, Li Wenjiang, Xu Hui, Wang Jue, and Guo Hongfeng. Their commitment to preserving local cultural characteristics and integrating commercial functions into the site has resulted in a truly exceptional creation.

The architectural design of SunbiZitan Scenic Area adopts Chinese traditional wooden structures with mortise and tenon joints, utilizing waterproof, fireproof, and insect-proof timbers to minimize the application of metal connectors. The project accommodates catering and commerce functions within a gross floor area of 5,680 square meters, complemented by hard landscapes covering 14,172 square meters and 90,548 square meters of green land and water.

U A D's SunbiZitan Scenic Area has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category in 2022. This accolade celebrates the project's practical and innovative design, meeting professional and industrial requirements while integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
