Angela Spindler, the creative mind behind Hopapops, has unveiled a groundbreaking packaging design for a new healthy snack food. The packaging features a vibrant colored circle housing the brand mark and essential information, complemented by a playful typography that reflects the brand's fun tone. The main illustration on the packaging emphasizes the flavor variants, making it a standout in the market.

The unique selling point of Hopapops lies in its use of popped water lily seeds, a relatively unknown ingredient in the US market. The challenge was to create a design that would capture the attention of consumers unfamiliar with this superfood. The packaging focuses on shelf shout, simple information hierarchy, and strong ingredient visuals, setting it apart from traditional snack packaging.

The realization of the design involved digital production for the initial run, followed by gravure printing. The use of CMYK, along with two spot colors per pouch and Spot UV gloss, adds a striking visual appeal to the packaging.

This innovative snack brand comes in two pack sizes, catering to both individual and family consumption. The project, which commenced in March 2019 and concluded in September 2019, was entirely executed in Sydney for a successful launch in the USA.

Angela Spindler's meticulous research and creative approach have resulted in a design that not only highlights the product's unique texture and shape but also communicates its health benefits. The fun tone of voice developed for the brand complements its health credentials, making it an exciting addition to the healthy snack market.

Recognizing its exceptional design, Hopapops was honored with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2020. This award acknowledges the practicality, innovation, and professional excellence demonstrated by the packaging, setting a new standard in the industry.
