Gift of Huangyao: A Celebration of Local Culture and Tradition

Designer Jie Yang's latest creation, the Gift of Huangyao, is a unique sauce packaging that encapsulates the essence of the local culture and tradition of Huangyao ancient town in Guangxi. Inspired by the town's cultural buildings and natural scenery, the packaging features a three-layer carved paper design, symbolizing the traditional Chinese courtyard and the concept of "Everything prospers at home." The bottle cap, shaped like the bluestone road of the ancient town, signifies the product's connection to thousands of families.

The Gift of Huangyao stands out as a new package for a local specialty seasoning sauce, deeply loved for its unique flavor and long history. The packaging, made from degradable environmental protection paper, reflects the harmonious coexistence of humans and the environment.

The project, which commenced in September 2021 and completed in November 2021, involved extensive research and creative problem-solving. The design team overcame the challenge of layered hollowed-out carving paper through innovative staggered printing techniques, bringing the historical and cultural patterns to life with a near-realistic perspective effect.

Jie Yang's Gift of Huangyao has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category for its outstanding creativity and ingenious design that authentically represents the local culture, connecting families and homes through its innovative packaging.
