sxdesign, a design studio based in Beijing, China, has revealed the Mamba Chiliast (MC) brand identity, tailored for fans who embrace the Mamba Mentality. The logo, inspired by the hexagram, cleverly integrates the letters M and C, symbolizing the community's shared belief and unity.
Distinctive in its approach, Mamba Chiliast aims to convey a sense of religion and power, setting it apart from traditional sports brands. The design utilizes the symbolism of the "eye of providence," resonating with fans' collective memory and reinforcing the idea that their thoughts and actions are always observed, akin to their hero, the Mamba.
Emphasizing the community's passion, resilience, and bravery, the logo serves as a powerful visual signal, encapsulating the essence of the fan community and the Mamba Mentality. The project, which commenced in August 2021 and concluded in November 2021, was a collaborative effort led by the design team at sxdesign. Overcoming the challenge of appealing to Kobe fans without relying on traditional basketball elements, the team successfully crafted a design that resonates deeply with the community's values and beliefs.
