Air Btn: Redefining User Communication and Product Branding

sxdesign introduces Air Btn, a groundbreaking UI elements design project that aims to revolutionize user communication and enhance product branding. Inspired by the button shapes of various products and the brand image of the client, Air Btn reflects the high quality of the products while conveying complex functions in a fast and intuitive way. The design, which won the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2021, is a testament to its practicality and innovation.

The objective of the UI elements is to convey complex functions in a fast way. This simple design of general consensus symbols delivers the meaning of products' unique functions immediately. These clear UI elements not only represent effective user communication but also meet the manufacturing requirements of various products. The different stroke of outline awards the UI elements an elegant feeling and creates an integrated visual framework for the product family.

Realized through printing or injection molding, the UI elements offer a range of size options, with the minimal size being 6.4mm x 6.4mm. These elements can be printed on the product control panel or injected with LED lights to prompt consumers to press. The project, which started in August 2020 in Ningbo and concluded in November 2020 in ShenZhen, China, was driven by the need to intuitively display the functions of air products such as ventilators, purifiers, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers.

Despite challenges such as accurate information transmission, exquisite design, and the compatibility of production methods and sizes, Air Btn successfully conveys the meaning of the product's function, improves the user experience, and reflects the quality of the product to enhance the brand image. As a design studio in China, sxdesign is dedicated to building significance in daily life through the observation, extraction, abstraction, and reorganization of phenomena, as reflected in the innovative and practical Air Btn design.
