The Plant - Advent & Nature: Smartwatch Watch Face

Pan Yong introduces "The Plant - Advent & Nature," a unique smartwatch watch face project designed to cater to both business and casual users. The Advent design is tailored for business purposes, featuring a dashboard-like layout with direct access to essential day-to-day work information and event indicators to ensure users never miss important meetings. On the other hand, the Nature design embodies minimalism while still providing event indications, suitable for casual occasions.

This watch face project stands out with its two sets of designs, each catering to different user needs. The Advent design features encouraging slogans for each day of the week, while the Nature design provides essential information and different color options to match various outfits. Both designs can change colors according to the user's preference, offering a customizable experience.

Developed using Photoshop and WatchMaker app, this watch face is designed to support Samsung Gear watches and all Android smartwatches. Users can easily load the watch face using the WatchMaker app and sync it into their watch to enjoy its unique features.

The project was initiated in January 2018 and completed in June 2018 in Singapore, where Pan Yong, also known as Alex, graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts in 2007 with a degree in interactive art.

Pan Yong's innovative approach to combining art and technology has earned him recognition, including the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 for the "The Plant - Advent & Nature" smartwatch watch face project. This award acknowledges the practical and innovative nature of the design, meeting professional and industrial requirements while integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
