Yuanye Spring: Bridging Education, Agriculture, and Technology

Yuanye Spring, a groundbreaking urban farm designed by Vicky Chan, aims to revolutionize children's agricultural education by integrating farming, technology, history, and sustainability. The project seeks to inspire a new generation to pursue studies in agriculture and address the aging farmer demographic in China.

Spanning 8000m2, Yuanye Spring seamlessly blends education, agriculture, and technology, offering children a hands-on experience in sustainable living and environmental stewardship. The facility utilizes upcycled and locally sourced materials, emphasizing a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Through active participation in the construction process and the utilization of bamboo and salvaged materials, children have contributed to advancing the farm's net-zero design application, resulting in a remarkable 72% reduction in carbon footprint compared to other urban farms. The circular ecosystem fosters waste reduction, repurposing, and biodiversity, instilling a sense of responsibility and care for food resources.
