Jazz: Redefining Interior Design with WELL Building Standard™ Integration

Minature Interior Design Ltd. introduces Jazz, a groundbreaking interior design project that sets new standards in healthy and comfortable living spaces. The project, completed in November 2023 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, showcases a unique approach to interior design.

Jazz revolves around a gray-black color scheme, highlighting the texture of exposed concrete, metal components, and glass, complemented by a reddish-brown wood grain to add warmth to the cool tones. The team has seamlessly integrated the concept of WELL Building Standard™ into the residence, incorporating design techniques for air, water, light, thermal comfort, and materials to ensure a healthy and comfortable living environment.

The 165-square meter space features innovative design elements, including concealed dehumidification equipment, air purifiers, whole-house water purification system, large windows for natural light, and a radiant floor heating system. The project also emphasizes the use of low-formaldehyde panels and formaldehyde treatment projects to enhance indoor air quality.

Walking into the elevator hall, the doors of the shoe cabinet feature Lumber core plywood with drilled holes, showcasing the natural appearance of the interior materials. The dining and living room space boasts an exposed and rugged ceiling, preserving the building's original modest appearance and minimizing the impact of interior decoration on the environment. The open area features staggered shelves integrated with a pet pathway, guiding cats into the elevated walkway in the sky, creating a unique and functional living space.

Ms. Yi-Lun Hsu, the founder of Minature Interior Design Ltd., has been recognized for her innovative approach to interior design. With professional training on urban, architecture, and interior scales, she continues to prioritize ecology, regional culture, and the reuse of old buildings. Her accolades include the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024 for Jazz, further solidifying her position as a visionary in the industry.
