Reimagining Spatial Dynamics and Natural Lighting

Yu [i] Design Studio, led by Hung Yu Chen, has redefined the traditional spatial layout by incorporating a T-shaped traffic flow design to optimize the use of natural light from north and west-facing windows. The innovative use of Italy-imported special paints, wooden-grained tiles, mirrors, and unique stone slates has transformed the 40-ping area into a seamless blend of transparent and visually expansive living spaces.

The project addresses the challenge of creating a more penetrating visual effect within the space, resulting in the replacement of the original multi-compartment layout with a more open and free-flowing design. By strategically utilizing mirrors and unique stone plates, the design achieves an expanded visual space, while the open-ended ceiling design and layered lighting effects contribute to a sense of depth and vitality.

Recognized for its creative ingenuity, "The Depth of Space" was honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022, celebrating its exceptional contribution to enhancing quality of life through innovative design practices.
