Neon Nights Concept Transforms HK Fashion Week

The Neon Nights concept, inspired by Hong Kong's iconic neon signboards, brought a modernistic interpretation to the 2019 HK Fashion Week. The design integrated the latest color trends of the fashion industry, creating a cool and vibrant aesthetic effect. The concept aimed to uplift the fair's image from a sourcing event into a marketing show.

The thematic concept was implemented across three areas: a welcome installation at the venue's main entrance, the entry treatment of the exhibition hall, and a 300m2 multifunctional space inside the hall for fashion shows, seminars, and informal meetings.

All three areas were constructed using metal frames with die-cut patterns and backlit opaque colored twin wall sheets. LED signages, digital stickers, biodegradable carpet, and dressed mannequins completed the set. The multifunctional space featured a 2.5m x 5m LED screen and three-tiered wooden seating modules with fabric cushions.

The project duration was three months, from initial briefing to onsite completion at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event ran for four days, from the 8th to the 11th of July 2019.

The concept of Neon Nights was a transformative contribution, uplifting the overall image of the fashion trade fair. It successfully depicted elements of Hong Kong's famous nighttime neon signboards while incorporating the latest fashion industry color trends.
