Florian Seidl's Lavazza Tiny Espresso Machine

Florian Seidl's Lavazza Tiny espresso machine, designed as a natural extension of the Lavazza A MODO MIO product line, is a small, friendly espresso machine that brings the authentic Italian coffee experience to your home. Inspired by a series of different products, including motorbikes and helmets, the design is essential and joyfully Mediterranean, celebrating colors and applying Lavazza’s design language with high-quality surfacing and detailing.

The Lavazza Tiny espresso machine is made from one piece with soft but precisely controlled surfaces, featuring a central crest that adds visual structure and a frontal pattern that repeats the horizontal theme often present on Lavazza products. The stop&go button, emphasized visually by a colored ring, makes it easy to choose how much coffee you want, providing an enjoyable and effortless experience.

Realized using injection molding (ABS/SAN), the Lavazza Tiny espresso machine measures 120mm by 290mm by 246mm and weighs 2.7kg. The project was developed in Turin, Italy, with the help of Angelica Rella and Altro Modo Design. The design was awarded the Platinum A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its exceptional and highly innovative design that contributes to societal well-being.
