PepsiCo Design and Innovation has unveiled the limited time offer (LTO) packaging to celebrate the Big Football Event (BFE) in 2022 in Qatar. The design captures the excitement of local football fans and pays tribute to the first-ever Arab country to host this landmark event.
The design features football fans themselves on the pack, showcasing the intense joy felt throughout a match and their insatiable thirst to see their team win. Real talents with different nationalities were photographed, and paint filters were applied to give the images an artistic look, nodding to the practice of fans face-painting during a match.
Despite not being an official sponsor, Pepsi wanted to make its presence known for this significant event, requiring a creative strategy to design LTO packaging, key visuals, and animations that would capture all the excitement of local football fans.
This innovative design has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation in celebrating the spirit of football with an unexpected Pepsi twist.
